When I lived in Waco I would hang out with (aka, babysit) the two cutest brothers. When asked where they wanted to go eat, they'd always say Hooters. It was super funny because the littlest one thought it was called Hooters after a sports team whose mascot was an owl. One day they were at a garage sale and saw a Hooters uniform, they bought it and proudly gave it to me. I always thought it would be a great Halloween costume, but a I rarely do anything for Halloween. That is, until this year.

The graduating law school class hosts an art auction every year to raise money for its class gift and graduation party. The event is always a blast. There really isn't much art being auctioned off. Instead, things like dinners with profs, the dean's parking spot for a week, designated drivers for the night, babysitters, etc. are auctioned off. It gets really interesting because the bidders (law students) are all really competitive people and under the influence of alcohol. For example, wine tasting for eight with a popular professor went for $2400. During the bidding, I kept thinking of all the beautiful things I would rather buy with that money.

This past weekend I drove to Minneapolis to celebrate Maggie and Matt's wedding. Lois invited me to stay with her, so on my way into town I stopped at the uber hip grocer, The Wedge, to pick up thank you tulips. I wished I'd had time to roam the aisles.More pictures here.
