Faircloth Family Christmas Vacation

We had a great time in Colorado. We left a day early because a big blizzard was blowing in. At times we were driving 30 mph, but we made it safely. Here are a few memories:
And here are some videos. The video recorder doesn't lie- I do not ski as smooth or as fast as I feel.
First, my favorite:
Now pathetic me:
Superstar Jacob showing off :
- Dad driving 17 hours straight because Mom and I refused to drive in the snow.
- Knowing how Mary and Joseph felt when Jacob said his apartment was too small and that we needed to get a hotel room.
- People we don't know hugging us at the evangelical church we went to on Christmas eve.
- Getting frostbitten on the tip of my nose and my left cheek because the windchill on Christmas day was -43 degrees.
- Mom proclaiming she "felt like Oprah Winfrey" to describe how stuffed she felt after Christmas dinner.
- Waiting two hours, outside, in the cold, for a mediocre crepe.
- Getting to the front of the crepe line and learning that the line is not long because the crepes are good, but because there is only one crepe pan and the crepe maker is taking periodic shots of whiskey.
- Baylor climbing friend, Ryan, joined for dinner one night.
- Our bus driver, Wells, who had a deep southern twang because he was from the Piedmont of North Carolina. He had lots of interesting tidbits to tell us like "This won't be the first line you wait in today, folks."
- Seeing what special dessert Mom purchased from her daily trip to Safeway.
- Have a great time together.

My mom and I (especially my mom) are obsessed with spin class. Her favorite instructor, Flora, who is Hawaiian, is getting married over Christmas. Mom hosted a bridal shower for Flora and invited all her spinning friends. . . .when Mom asked if Flora's breasts were real, Flora said "real expensive." Flora hadn't registered anywhere and said she didn't need anything, so for their gift, the spin girls gave Flora a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret. Very appropriate.
The bride-to-be.

Everyone came over after spin class...except for Flora who went home and showered.

Sorry for the delay. Here are pictures from Thanksgiving.
Jacob and I feeling likes swells at the UND hockey game. A law school friend gave me her box tickets. We enjoyed the free booze, food, and great seats.

Jacob and I stuffed after dinner.
Law school friends: Johanna ("Cali") and Cathy ("Canada").

Megan is my MBA friend from New York.

Finals ended last week and since then I have been busy organizing my life and doing nothing. Most enjoyably, I have been catching up on my television watching. Let me just say Jersey Shore is so wrong but oh-so-good.
Tiger, you're a slime ball and I hope Nike drops you like a hot potato.
