blogging my way through this smoggy world

sic 'em bears!

I'll be spending a lot of time in the library this weekend, but trust me, I'd rather be in Waco celebrating Baylor's Homecoming. Sic' em bears!

PS, check out Oscar's halloween outfit.

PPS, Revekah has adopted a dachshund from the Humane Society. Her name is Claire and she is overweight. Here's a pic. I can't wait to meet her. She is still planning to get a dane.

splish splash

On Thursday Jack's brother, sister-in-law, and nephew Aidan (9 months) came to Grand Forks. I had become "friends" with his sister-in-law on facebook, but this was the first time to meet in person. I really liked them and appreciated all their law school wisdom. They currently live four hours away in Bismarck, but are moving to Fargo this summer so they'll only be an hour away.

On Friday night we went to dinner and swam at their hotel's pool.

meet jack!

I have been wanting to do this post for a long time, but it took me a while to convince Mr. Jack to let me post a picture. I need Lauren here to take pictures!

Anyways, Jack is great. He is 25 and at 6'5'' he is a foot taller than me. He's from Bismarck and besides fabulous me, he likes movies, hockey, hiking, skiing, golf, mountain biking, lifting weights, and Obama. He went to UND for his undergrad and majored in Psychology. He's probably sick of me talking about Texas, Waco, Baylor, Bradley, and wanting a dog. . . but I don't let that stop me. These days I dream of standard poodles, goldens, goldendoodles, and great danes. Jack says he wants a german shepherd, but I think I would cry myself to sleep everynight if I had one of those.

I got to meet his mother this weekend. She's darling and very sweet. I'll get to meet his brother, sister in law, and nephew when they visit this weekend. His brother and sister in law graduated from law school in May.

I wish we could fly down for Homecoming to see everyone!

pretty as a picture

Word on the internet street is that folks are sick of seeing the lovely goth gal. So here's pretty picture for you (Lauren).

Things are going well up here. Lots of school work, including reading and writing. I am trying to get in a routine of going to class, going to the library until five o'clock and then going to the gym. After dinner I hit the books again. Each week I tweak my schedule a little and am still searching for the magic formula. My favorite class is Property and my least favorite is Constitutional Law (yawn). I am starting to like Civil Procedure and Legal Research and Writing. Torts is fun and Contracts is pretty good, too.

Anyways, back to the books.
