blogging my way through this smoggy world

observation

I'm about to turn 27 and I can't help butt (pun intended) notice my butt is starting to sag. It is still plump, it just hangs a bit. It makes me laugh.

This year has brought a few more wrinkles around my eyes, but I started using eye cream at 26 to combat this, so I am POSITIVE that my wrinkling could be much worse if I hadn't started this regime. Also, I like to think my acne keeps me young. You may remember my little Proactive test. For the most part it works, but my skin is so irritated and dry with this harsh winter weather that it doesn't know what to do. I slather on moisturizer but that just breeds zits. I currently have two twin zits- one on each cheek, where dimples should be.

I guess our bodies are always changing and for the most part I like the changes. I just don't understand- I got boobs late, why can't the wrinkling and saggy butt come late, too?

this will change your life forever

Blog stalkers, listen up. If you don't use it yet, you need to. . . Google Reader!

Google Reader will tell you when one of the blogs you read has a new post. If you are like me, before Google Reader, I had a folder of all the blogs I read. In fact, I have 23 blogs on my radar in my little blog folder. I would click on my favorite blogs, the ones who post entries often and then occasionally check the not-so-frequent blogger's blogs.

Here is where my life has been forever changed. Now, all I do is go to Google Reader and it highlights which of my 23 blogs has a new post. Brilliant.

I think you have to have a Google account to use Reader, but it is worth it.

what i wore today

I found this blog, seaofshoes, on a friend's blog. It's a fashion blog and the girl, who is 16, wears Prada regularly and lives in North Dallas. Anyways, she often takes a picture of what she wore that day. I'm not going to do that, but given the extremely low temperatures here in North Dakota, you may be wondering what I am wearing. To preface, look closely at this picture. Currently, it is -21 degrees outside. Yesterday morning it dipped down to -38, but I didn't take a picture of that because I had an 8 o'clock class. So today I am sporting what people up here call "cuddleduds." It's the brand name of long johns for women. I got mine at JCPenny, but you can also get them at Kohl's and Target. On top of that I have some corduroys. The problem with cuddleduds (or any other type of long john) is that you are limited by what pants you can put over them. Either I have grown outward, or most of my pants cup my bootay. The cords I am wearing today have some spandex-give in them, so you can squeeze into them with your cuddleduds. I am also wearing a cuddledud top. On top of that I have a Patagonia midweight athletic top and a 700 fill down vest. For shoes, I have some wellies that I have had since 7th grade, they are nicely insulated. I will also be sporting a scarf, a down patagonia jacket, leather mittons, and a rabbit fur lined bomber hat.

In other news, last weekend I went to a UND hockey game. We played the University of MN and won. Go Sioux! I had so much fun that I went out the next day and bought ice skates. I have only taken them out once, but it's a lot of fun! The crazy part is how good the little kids are. In the rink next to where I was looking like Bambi, trying to stay upright, were some little boys playing a pickup game of hockey. They were incredible skaters.
Here is a picture of my new skates. I bought them used and replaced the boring white laces with some pink ones :)Here are some more pictures that I am just now getting around to uploading:

At Thanksgiving. . . . running and going to a UND hockey game with Jacob and Jack. Doesn't Jack make Jacob and me look like shrimps?

are you there blog? it's me marcy.

It's been pretty busy since we last spoke. My grades are finally trickling in from the five finals I took. Over break I went to Bismarck twice to visit Jack and his family. I spent a week in Winter Park, CO with my family. The big news there is that Jacob been promoted and now has the entire state of Utah as his sales territory, so he'll probably be moving to Denver and then flying to Utah during the week. Then I flew to Pennsylvania to visit sweet Lauren and her boyfriend, Tim. The trip was too short, but I loved seeing them and loved Pennsylvania (old architecture, rolling hills, and winding roads).

My new year's resolutions are to get on a schedule with studying and working out. Also to go to church more (so I actually need to get my butt in gear right now and go) and I want to pray before each meal (don't worry, silently if in public).

Hope everyone has a super 2009!
