On Caylan and Jane's evening walk, an older couple came running out of their house to meet Jane. They had owned danes when they were younger and were excited to meet the new one in the neighborhood. Somewhere during their conversation, Caylan looked down and the wife was sweetly bending down giving Jane a full-on hug. Melts my heart. Dogs, pets, they really touch people's heart in a very sustainable way. They also want to be a part of Jane's life, offering to watch her if we ever need to get out of town for a day. A friend of a dane, is a friend of mine.
In other news, we've got a clean dog. Jane and Caylan showered. Together. This was Jane's first bath. (Her foster mother was older and unable to bathe the dogs.) Jane jumped right in and let Caylan scrub her down, clean her ears, and clip her nails. She also got a nice brushing. Girlfriend's looking hawt.
