We spent the night at a seedy Motel 6 in Portland. It started raining 36 hours ago and it hasn't stopped. We breakfasted at a Swedish restaurant and enjoyed Danish pancakes and lefsa with eggs, chives, and goat cheese.
We then went to REI to get Jane some booties for hiking. (Jane's paw is needs a separate posting). She has an XL large foot, but interestingly enough, she is a large in jackets. It is so funny watching her try clothes on because like I imagine a large chested woman, she has to suck-in to zip jackets around her chest, but then they hang loose around her skinny waist.
We then headed up the Oregon coast to a food coop in Astoria, home of the goonies. Then drove up to Bellingham, WA. We drove through temperate rain forests, Lewis & Clark National Park, and parts of the coast. We stopped at the Oyster Capitol of the World and Caylan enjoyed a shooter (cup of raw oysters).

We took a 25 minute ferry to get to our destination in Washington. Jane loved it.
We arrived in Bellingham, WA around 9pm. We met a friend who was a clinical psychology PhD student at UND and who has since graduated and counsels at the university there. Tuesday we'll head down to Portland on a different route stopping at a handful of food coops along the way.
